Police Region North is the largest region by area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police districts: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which together are divided into 12 local police districts. Furthermore, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, an HR section, a communications group, as well as national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
Local Police District Northern Ångermanland is part of the Västernorrland Police District. Within the local police district, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and services.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
As a Station Commander, it is your responsibility to plan, distribute, lead, and follow up on the internal operations of the police district and local police district within the operational area. The tasks are based on operational responsibility and start from the problem picture of the police district. In this function, you lead part of the internal operations either on behalf of the manager or independently through assigned delegation. The tasks and requirements of the function are close to the direct leader, and it also includes being the ammunition custodian.
The function of Station Commander does not involve formal personnel responsibility, but the role as a supervisor means that you coach, motivate, and support your employees and create conditions for them to reach their full potential.
Work in Härnösand and at the police district's main location in Sundsvall may occur as needed.
In the function of Station Commander, you will, among other things, be responsible for:
- initially supervising deprivation of liberty cases that are not reviewed by the duty investigator
- being responsible for the lock-ups in the Västernorrland Police District, when this is not done locally
- continuously reviewing the legal basis for deprivation of liberty
- supervising deprivation of liberty cases remotely when such a routine has been decided
- preparing and maintaining a prisoner register
- supervising prisoner guards and other subordinate staff
- acting as a receiver and mediator of incident reports with priority 5 and related handling and administration
- handling urgent staffing issues
- handling general inquiries/visits at the reception, especially outside office hours
- deciding on and handling administration regarding certain physical interventions
- ensuring that operations are conducted according to the Swedish Police Authority's intentions and instructions, efficiently, cost-aware, in accordance with current legislation, regulations, and other rules.

QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- police education according to Ordinance (2014:1105) on education for police officers
- good experience in the police profession
- good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
It is meritorious if you also have:
- previous experience as a Station Commander
- experience in working as a supervisor or equivalent that the employer considers relevant for the assignment
- experience of having been a supervisor in patrol/supervision in the field
Personal Qualities
In the role of Station Commander, you have many contact points and collaborate both within the police as well as with other authorities, e.g., social services, healthcare, etc. We are therefore looking for you with high social competence and good communication skills, meaning you are sensitive, clear, and can adapt your message to the recipient and situation.
We are also looking for you who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to analyze information and create an overview of the work situation, as well as having a structured way of working. You are flexible in your approach to which tasks are to be performed.
The role requires that you are a confident person who can work independently as well as in a group, make your own decisions, and solve the problems you are faced with.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
